Code of Ethics

Eight principles framing every mission, and the Swiss legal framework that applies.

Why this code

This document formalises the rules framing every traceLABS mission. It is not decorative: every article applies to the letter, from the prior written mandate to the freedom to stop at any time.

Our principles

1
Prior written mandate No intervention without a signed document defining the scope, objectives and agreed definition of the result.
2
Open sources only All investigations rely on publicly accessible sources or on data voluntarily provided by the client. No unauthorised access to third-party systems (art. 143 Swiss Criminal Code).
4
Absolute confidentiality Client information is not transmitted to any third party without explicit written consent. Reports are delivered exclusively to the client.
5
Transparency of methods The tools and sources used are listed in every report. Nothing is hidden from the client about how the information was obtained.
6
No promise of result No promise of result in advance. The expected result is defined in writing before the mission begins, and that definition frames the final evaluation.
7
Freedom to stop The client can stop the mission at any time, without justification or consequence.
8
Outside the criminal field This service is not a criminal complaint, does not replace filing a complaint, and does not aim to feed a judicial procedure without the client's explicit consent. Any approach to authorities remains the client's initiative and responsibility.

Legal protection

A written mandate signed by the client precedes every mission. It defines the scope, the expected result and the applicable confidentiality.
